Students’ who consistently attend class twice a week, continually strive to achieve and put forth their best work ethic, and come to class with a positive learning attitude and generosity towards fellow Park’s Tae Kwon Do Instructors and students, are eligible to test every three months.

Special Note Regarding Students under 13 Years of Age:

Students under 13 years of age are still growing and maturing with their minds and bodies.  It is very hard for them to have the level of technique and the stable balance of older students.  We emphasize being respectful with other classmates and towards instructors, a readiness to learn and do their best, and having a great time during class.  This achievement is deserving of belt promotion.


Misunderstandings regarding Belt Testing

Perfect technique is not the determination for readiness for Belt Testing.  No one ever achieves perfect technique – it is a constant process and striving.


Am I a Martial Artist?

Do you always try your best and put forth great effort?

Are you polite and respectful and encouraging to your fellow students and instructors?

Do you have a positive attitude?

Are you humble and always promote others first?

If you answer yes to these questions, then you are most definitely a true martial artist even if your technique is not perfect or the best.  The best technique in the world does not make a martial artist.  The person you are inside makes you a martial artist.


What is Tae Kwon Do?

Tae Kwon Do embodies a positive, healthy life style whereby studying and training the tenets and techniques will give you a better understanding of yourself, while strengthening your mind and body.  Proper Tae Kwon Do training will teach you how to use your arms and legs for self-defense if it ever becomes necessary.  Tae Kwon Do is much more than physical training.  You will gain positive energy in your daily life and more appreciation for all the things you have been given.
